Our Mission
Heic2 was born from a simple frustration: converting HEIC photos from an iPhone should not require uploading personal images to unknown servers or installing bulky software. Every existing solution either compromised privacy, charged money, or delivered poor quality.
We set out to build something different. A tool that converts images entirely in your browser. No uploads. No servers. No tracking. Just fast, private, high-quality image conversion that works every time.
Our Story
The HEIC format was introduced by Apple in 2017 with iOS 11. It promised better compression and quality than JPEG, and it delivered. But it also created a compatibility problem. Windows users could not open iPhone photos. Android users struggled. Web designers faced format issues.
We saw an opportunity to solve a real problem. What if there was a converter that worked everywhere, respected privacy, and was completely free? That question led to months of development, testing, and refinement. The result is Heic2.
Today, Heic2 processes hundreds of thousands of conversions each month for users in over 195 countries. We continue to improve the platform, adding support for new formats and optimizing performance.
